Salary dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates are reserved for candidates with substantial experience and/or relevant training such as a recognised Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent). Pay is determined in line with school expectations and Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), where applicable.

About the Role

The school is seeking a proactive and dedicated Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Year 1 and Year 2. This is a full-time, temporary position starting 30th March 2026.

You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons, provide targeted interventions, and support pupils’ academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across KS1 (Year 1 & Year 2)

• Deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions

• Assist with phonics, early reading, writing, and numeracy

• Support pupils with additional needs, including mild SEN

• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation

• Help maintain a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom

• Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and leadership

Requirements

To be eligible for this role, applicants must have:

• Previous experience working with KS1 pupils

• Strong understanding of early childhood development

• Confidence supporting phonics and early literacy

• A patient, nurturing, and reliable approach

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Desirable:

• Experience supporting pupils with SEN (ASD, Speech & Language, SEMH)

• Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

• Experience delivering structured interventions
