Job Title: Kitchen and Bar Manager Location: Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: £35,000 per annum Expected Start Date: August 2025 About the Role We are currently recruiting for a full-time Kitchen and Bar Manager to lead our food and beverage offering at our friendly, independently run racket sports club in Jesmond. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to work in a unique and welcoming environment, set within beautiful grounds in the heart of Jesmond. We offer flexible shifts for the right candidate, and applicants from both chef and cook backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Main Responsibilities Oversee the day-to-day management of the kitchen and bar operations Lead, organise, and manage the kitchen team, including staff rotas Cook food during shifts, including meals for the on-site nursery , ensuring quality and consistency Plan menus , manage stock ordering , and ensure events are catered effectively Maintain and enforce Health & Safety and Food Hygiene standards, ensuring all necessary paperwork and compliance measures are met Deliver excellent customer service and ensure a consistent member experience Assist with routine cleaning of the kitchen, equipment, and utensils Support initiatives to develop the food and beverage offering including events such as our successful monthly pub quiz , which regularly attracts 70+ attendees Package food with correct labelling in line with regulations Carry out stock rotation and manage deliveries What Were Looking For Demonstrated experience in food preparation , team management , and maintaining high standards of health, safety, and hygiene Experience managing or working within a kitchen, ideally as a chef , cook , or kitchen supervisor Ability to work independently and take initiative in a small, friendly team Strong organisational skills and attention to detail A passion for providing a high-quality service to members and visitors Why Work With Us?
