Our customer, a UK-based law firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Knowledge Lawyer or Commercial Lawyer. This is an excellent opportunity for a fee-earning lawyer looking to move into a knowledge-focused role, contributing to the development of best practice, innovation initiatives, and legal technology strategy across the firm’s Commercial, Technology & Outsourcing, and Data & Cyber practice areas.

About the role:

This position will offer both strategic insight and hands-on support across a wide range of disciplines, including commercial agreements, technology projects, outsourcing (particularly within regulated environments), advertising and consumer law, data protection and privacy, and non-contentious cyber matters.

The role combines the traditional remit of a Knowledge Lawyer with a broader strategic focus on advancing AI-driven initiatives, developing client-facing solutions, and optimising service delivery. You will work closely with partners and fee earners to enhance the use of legal technology, while maintaining high-quality know-how resources, precedents, and training to ensure the practice remains at the forefront of the market.

Responsibilities:

• Lead AI and legal technology initiatives, translating strategic objectives into practical knowledge workstreams, client-facing solutions and innovation projects.
• Act as subject matter lead on AI governance and regulatory developments, ensuring safe, compliant and commercially robust deployment of AI-enabled tools.
• Drive thought leadership and horizon scanning across commercial, technology, data protection and cyber, producing market-facing insights and representing the firm externally.
• Design and deliver internal and client training programmes, supporting cross-disciplinary capability in AI, data and technology regulation.
• Oversee knowledge management, including development of precedents, playbooks and guidance, while supporting fee earners with practical, market-aligned know-how.
