Are you passionate about making a real difference to children who learn differently? We are currently working with an alternative provision in Maidstone seeking a dedicated and creative KS1 SEN Teacher to join their team, supporting pupils with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) to thrive academically and personally.
The Role
You will:
Teach a small KS1 class within an alternative provision setting
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across the primary curriculum
Support pupils with ASC through structured academic learning and tailored interventions
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to implement EHCP targets
Promote emotional regulation, communication and independence skills
Create a nurturing, safe and consistent classroom environment
Build strong relationships with families and external agencies
✔️ About You
You will have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Proven experience working with pupils with SEN, particularly ASC
Strong understanding of strategies for supporting communication, sensory needs and social interaction
A flexible, calm and positive approach
Excellent behaviour management and de-escalation skills
