Job Description

We are seeking a committed and capable Year 6 Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Brent on a full-time basis from January 2026 until July 2026.\n\nAbout the role\n\nAs a Year 6 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support teaching and learning, with a particular focus on English and Maths. You will provide targeted support to individuals and small groups, helping pupils build confidence, consolidate key skills, and prepare effectively for assessments.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nSupporting the class teacher in delivering lessons, particularly in English and Maths\n\nWorking with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce key learning objectives\n\nAssisting with SATs preparation and intervention sessions\n\nHelping to maintain a focused and positive classroom environment\n\nMonitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff\n\nAdhering to safeguarding and school policies at all times\n\nAbout the school\n\nThe school is a supportive and well-organised primary school in Brent, with a strong focus on pupil progress and high expectations. The leadership team values teamwork and provides clear guidance and structure, ensuring staff feel supported in their roles.\n\nRequirements\n\nTo be considered for the role of KS2 Teaching Assistant you will:\n\nPrevious experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in KS2 or Year 6\nStrong English and Maths skills\nAbility to support pupils preparing for end-of-key-stage assessments\nSalary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications.
