Job Description
Position: Metallurgical Laboratory Technician\n\nLocation: South Yorkshire\n\nSector: Metals testing\n\nSalary: Negotiable according experience but likely to be in the £30,000-£40,000 range\n\nHybrid: No, this is office based in South Yorkshire\n\nVisa Support: Sponsorship may be available for the right candidate\n\nThe Role:\n\nEnsuring that all work is carried out according to instructions\nEnsuring that all health and safety requirements are adhered to\nEnsuring that all equipment is maintained and calibrated as required\nEnsuring that all reports are accurate and succinct, delivering all required information to stakeholders\nCarrying out testing and report writing as required as part of the team\nRecruitment, training and development of staff to ensure availability of skills\nProviding reports to the SLT on activity levels, costs etcAbout You:\n\nA Degree level qualification is essential. This MUST be in Metallurgy, Materials Science or very similar\nPost-graduate certifications (Masters, MSc, Meng, PhD) are most welcome\nProven experience of working in a laboratory environment, ideally for 5 + years\nExperience of microscopy, mechanical testing, corrosion, surface finish, heat treatment etc\nFluent written and spoken English including the ability to write complex technical reports in a clear and concise manner\nExperience of specifying laboratory equipment is beneficial \n\nAbout Us\n\nWe are dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive community.
