Overview Senior Buyer. Take ownership of high-value infrastructure and facility procurement projects where your strategic decisions directly support critical national defence capabilities. You will lead complex tender events and shape long-term supplier partnerships within a stable and sophisticated engineering environment. Responsibilities
Lead the procurement lifecycle for construction and facilities management categories to support site growth and operational readiness. Execute strategic sourcing activities including the development of comprehensive tender packs and evaluation criteria. Collaborate with internal safety and security departments to ensure all outsourced services meet stringent industry standards. Manage supplier performance through proactive relationship management and detailed contract drafting. Identify opportunities for functional excellence and process improvements to drive value beyond cost savings.
Qualifications
British nationality is essential for this role. Significant experience in facilities management or construction procurement. Proven ability to lead end-to-end tender processes and request for proposal cycles. Strong skills in contract negotiation and commercial risk mitigation. Experience using e-procurement platforms such as Ivalua to manage sourcing events. Ability to influence senior stakeholders across diverse corporate functions. Professional understanding of cost structures and pricing models within professional services. Relevant vocational training or a CIPS qualification is highly regarded. Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex requirements into clear commercial agreements.
