Job Title: Lead Civil Engineer\n\nRate: £50 - £60 per hour (dependent on experience)\n\nLocation: Birmingham / Glasgow / Chester / Leeds (Flexible UK base / hybrid)\n\nType: Contract - Inside IR35, Hybrid\n\nAbout the Role:\nOur client is seeking Lead Civil Engineers to join their Delivery group, working on non-infrastructure UK water engineering projects. You will act as a technical specialist and/or in a lead role, developing and applying advanced engineering techniques, while guiding project teams to deliver high-quality outputs.\n\nAbout the Client:\nOur client is part of a global engineering and environmental group, delivering projects in over 100 countries. They combine innovation, sustainability, and technical excellence, offering employees opportunities to work on exciting projects worldwide while supporting flexible and hybrid working patterns in the UK.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nProvide guidance on design guides, standards, systems, and engineering codes.

\nPrepare calculations and develop civil engineering deliverables (models, drawings, reports) within budget, schedule, and quality standards. \nMentor and develop junior staff while promoting continuous improvement. \nCoordinate with internal and external teams on complex projects.

\nDevelop recommendations for materials, construction techniques, and project specifications. \nServe as a technical specialist providing advice and guidance to project teams. \nEnsure compliance with all health & safety duties of designers.

\n\nWhat Our Client is Looking For:\n\nCivil Engineering design and/or hydraulics/structural background. \nExperience in design and build, particularly non-infrastructure water/wastewater treatment works. \nProven ability to lead and manage a multidisciplinary team (civil, structural, geotechnical, hydraulics).
