Data Services and Analytics (DSA) is part of DDaT, leading the development of data products to integrate data from multiple sources and deliver insights for business intelligence, reporting, and data science. DSA aims to be a leading provider of insight services within UK Government and is currently expanding, with over 300 staff supporting various functions within the Home Office.
In this role, you will identify and deliver new data sources, develop ETL processes, and collaborate with Data Acquisition, Analytics, and Infrastructure teams to execute the data strategy through designing and implementing technology systems.

The successful candidate will be based at one of the following regional offices: 2 Ruskin Square – Croydon, Soapworks - Manchester, or Vulcan House - Sheffield. Under Home Office hybrid working policies, attendance at the office is expected for at least 60% of your working hours.
Lead Data Analysts should have a genuine passion for analytics, an innovative mindset, and a critical approach to current delivery methods to improve processes and offer new perspectives.
As a Lead Data Analyst, you will lead the exploration and utilization of complex datasets, analytical tools, and techniques to support various stakeholders across the Home Office. You will ensure that innovative opportunities are fully explored, evaluating options, impacts, risks, and solutions to define problems clearly and maximize the exploitation of new data and technologies.
You will build and manage a network of colleagues and contacts to advance shared objectives.
You will serve as a thought leader within the Data Analysis community and oversee the development of junior staff.

- Leading teams to create data analysis products that provide tangible business benefits and significant impact.
- Expanding the capabilities of data analysis, including predicting patterns of behavior and understanding emerging trends and innovations in government and industry.
- Supporting the Principal Data Analyst in workload and team management and contributing to the data analysis strategy.
- Identifying, collecting, and migrating complex data and business questions across various systems.
- Developing knowledge of cutting-edge techniques and sharing insights across the organization.
- Presenting analysis results to senior stakeholders and making informed recommendations.
