Lead Electrical Engineer
Clevedon, Bristol, UK (Hybrid, 3-4 days onsite)
Permanent Role
Up to £63,000 + Bonus & Benefits

A Lead Electrical Engineer is required for a global engineering business specialising in advanced vacuum and abatement systems for the semiconductor industry. Their technology supports complex manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, reliability, and environmental performance.

This is a key role leading a growing team of Electrical Engineers focused on the design and development of complex equipment systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Electrical Engineers
  • Manage electrical design for new products and engineering changes
  • Take ownership of electrical systems and sub-systems
  • Ensure designs meet safety, compliance, cost, and performance targets
  • Resolve technical issues across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation actions
  • Drive modular and standardised design approaches
  • Oversee verification, validation, and type testing
  • Review and approve technical documentation

Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong experience in electrical design of industrial equipment or machinery
  • Previous team leadership or project coordination experience
  • Knowledge of compliance standards such as EN60204, EN/UL61010, EMC, Functional Safety
  • Experience with FMEA, HAZOP, and risk assessments
  • Semiconductor or complex machinery experience is desirable
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards it is desirable
