Our client, a leader in securing Britain's energy supply, is seeking a dynamic Lead Estimator for a Fixed Term Contract of 6 months. This is your chance to contribute to projects that power homes and businesses while supporting the transition to a sustainable energy future!\n\nWhat You'll Do:\n\nAs a Lead Estimator, you will play a vital role in developing precise cost estimates, collaborating with project teams, and engaging with stakeholders.

Your expertise will be essential in ensuring our projects are delivered on time and within budget.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDevelop detailed, analytical cost estimates from first principles.\nWork with project teams to define scopes and identify missing data.\nLead meetings with internal and external stakeholders to gather data and resolve estimation concerns.\nParticipate in risk workshops and build contingencies into estimates.\nRead and interpret engineering drawings (P&IDs, GA drawings, schematics).\nContinuously refine estimation processes for better accuracy and efficiency.\nEnsure estimates are well-documented with clear assumptions and governance signoffs.\nSupport cost management and reporting processes.\nCollaborate with stakeholders across engineering and commercial teams.\n\nKey Skills and Experience\n\nDegree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.\nProven track record in cost estimation, ideally in utilities, gas construction, or energy.\nStrong analytical and technical drawing interpretation skills.\nUnderstanding of project management and lifecycle.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management.\nProficiency in cost modelling and estimation tools.\nExperience in construction or utilities is highly desirable.\n\nDesirable Attributes\n\nProfessional accreditation (e.g., ACostE, ICES, RICS, or similar).\nFamiliarity with NEC contracts or project management frameworks.\nExperience working in regulated environments.\nAbility to work independently and hit the ground running.Please note: Due to the high volume of applications, only successful candidates will be contacted.
