A leading UK M&E contractor with a strong track record delivering major infrastructure and mission-critical projects is looking to appoint a Lead Mechanical Project Manager to oversee delivery on a large-scale data centre development in Buckinghamshire.
This is a flagship project scheduled to run through to the end of 2028, offering the opportunity to play a key leadership role on a complex, high-value scheme from delivery through to completion.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the mechanical package, managing teams on site, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme, and within budget while maintaining strong client relationships throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the mechanical package on a large-scale data centre project.
- Take full accountability for successful project delivery, ensuring works are completed on time and within budget.
- Manage site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project execution.
- Oversee programme management, installation progress, testing, commissioning, and final handover.
- Work closely with the client, consultants, and internal commercial teams to manage variations, costs, and programme milestones.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships at project level.
- Ensure all works comply with design specifications, quality standards, and health & safety regulations.
Experience Required:
- Proven experience working as a Mechanical Project Manager or Lead Mechanical Project Manager within an M&E / Building Services contracting environment.
- Strong data centre project experience is essential.
- Experience managing large-scale mechanical packages and coordinating multiple subcontractors.
- Strong leadership, commercial awareness, and programme management skills.
- Ability to manage stakeholder relationships and drive project delivery in a complex environment.
- Candidates must live within a commutable distance of the site, which is located in a remote area of Buckinghamshire.
Package:
- £90,000 – £110,000 salary (depending on experience)
