Lead Site Manager – Main Contractor
Plymouth | £50,000 – £55,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits

JHR Recruitment is working with a well-established, privately owned main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the South West. Due to continued growth and a secured pipeline of work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Lead Site Manager to take responsibility for a key project in Plymouth.

The Project

You will lead the delivery of a £5m design & build scheme, involving the replacement of roof and cladding systems on an existing building. This is a technically focused project requiring strong coordination, programme management, and attention to detail to ensure minimal disruption and high-quality execution.

The Role

As Lead Site Manager, you will take full site responsibility, reporting to the Project Manager and overseeing all site operations from start to completion.

Key responsibilities include:

* Managing day-to-day site activities and subcontractors

* Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to specification

* Coordinating trades and managing site logistics on a live environment

* Driving quality standards and ensuring compliance with design requirements

* Monitoring progress and reporting to senior management

* Maintaining strong client relationships on site

* Ensuring all H&S procedures and company policies are adhered to

About You

* Proven experience as a Site Manager / Lead Site Manager with a main contractor

* Experience delivering roofing and cladding packages

* Strong knowledge of design & build projects

* SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualified

* Excellent organisational and communication skills

* Ability to lead teams and drive programme on site
