I’m working with a fast-growing AI startup that’s transforming how operational workflows are handled in a highly regulated UK industry. Their AI product is already live and automating a large share of admin tasks, helping businesses run more efficiently, reduce costs, and avoid missed processes. They’re scaling quickly and now looking for a Lead Python/AI Engineer to help drive the next stage of growth. The Role You’ll be responsible for building and scaling AI-powered systems, influencing technical direction, and mentoring engineers as the team grows. You’ll also lead a small team of 2 engineers, with the opportunity to expand and shape the team as the company scales. This role requires someone who is comfortable working in a startup environment where things are moving quickly, taking ownership, and operating with a high level of autonomy. What They’re Looking For
7-10 years of software engineering experience (ideally AI, SaaS or automation) Experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django Previous experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and microservices Experience with data pipelines, Git, and CI/CD Ability to lead projects and support others Strong problem-solving and communication skills
