Lead Aircraft Stress Engineer – Aerospace Structures Permanent | Aerospace | Advanced Air Mobility
We are recruiting for an experienced Aircraft Stress Engineer to join a cutting-edge aerospace programme focused on eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft and advanced air mobility platforms.
This role is ideal for a hands-on Structural Analysis Engineer with strong experience in airframe primary structures, composite materials, and certification-driven environments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform detailed stress analysis on composite and metallic aircraft structures (wing, fuselage, empennage)
* Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using tools such as Nastran, Patran, Hypermesh, Abaqus or Simcenter 3D
* Produce and check stress reports (PSR, JSR) to support airworthiness and certification
* Support FAA / EASA certification activities
* Participate in design reviews, trade studies and structural optimisation
* Ensure structures meet safety, manufacturability and maintainability requirements
* Experience of leading engineering teams ranging from 5 to 20 team members
Required Experience:
* Background in aerospace structural analysis / aircraft stress engineering
* Strong knowledge of composite and metallic airframe structures
* Hands-on experience with Nastran or equivalent FEA solvers
* Experience writing formal stress reports and certification documentation
* Familiarity with airworthiness regulations (FAA, EASA)
Desirable: Hypersizer, Solver 400, Simcenter 3D, Windchill PLM, rotorcraft or eVTOL experience.
