About this opportunity
Exciting opportunity for a Lead Technical Application Specialist to join Markets Platform. This is a leadership role overseeing the specialist function and driving strategic initiatives.
This role is Lead Technical Application Specialist role in the new Trade Surveillance Lab, leading a team of approx. 15 x Technical Application Specialists/Engineers critical to implementing, embedding and managing the new TradingHub application as well as maintaining and running the current application stack covering Surveillance engineering activity. The applications monitor and control surveillance across the full breadth of Capital Markets products and ensure ongoing adherence to the MARA (Market Risk Abuse Assessment) methodology across.
What you’ll do…
Define strategic direction for the specialist function
Manage a team of specialists, including resource allocation and performance management
Represent the specialist function in high-level meetings and decision-making processes
Drive innovation and continuous improvement in the specialist area
Build relationships with external partners and vendors
Contribute to organizational strategy and budgeting
Oversee resource planning and allocation for the specialist function
Develop and implement policies and procedures for the specialist area
Lead strategic negotiations with key stakeholders and vendors
Identify and develop strategic partnerships and collaborations
Ensure alignment of specialist activities with overall business goals
Drive cultural change and promote continuous improvement within the organization
Co-ordinating and Leading the technical delivery workstreams to implement a new Trade Surveillance solution
What you’ll need
You’ll have relevant deep and broad experience of implementing and running a Trade Surveillance solution and will have been successful in a similar lead or senior supporting role.
Deep and broad experience of task managing a team of expert Trade Surveillance technical specialists.
Experience of a Trade Surveillance application preferably TradingHub.
A good understanding of Markets/Treasury asset classes, products and their associated trade lifecycles.
An appreciation of database and application server technologies and operating systems as well as database concepts.
Experience of Data products, lineage and quality in a GCP or other public cloud environment.
Familiarity with the concept of automated testing and process automation.
A grounding in application and database security concepts and controls
