Red Sector Recruitment is currently partnering with a progressive veterinary practice in Liverpool that is looking to appoint a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to play a key role in the development of its clinical team and services.

About the Role

The successful candidate will take on a leadership role within the practice, helping to guide clinical standards, mentor colleagues, and contribute to the long-term growth and success of the team. The position would suit a confident GP Veterinary Surgeon who leads by example and enjoys supporting the development of others.

You will still maintain a strong clinical focus, working directly with patients through consultations and surgery while supporting colleagues and contributing to the overall clinical direction of the practice.

For candidates with longer-term ambitions, there is also potential to explore partnership opportunities in the future, offering an exciting pathway for career progression.

The practice itself offers a modern working environment and is due to undergo refurbishment, further enhancing the facilities already in place.

Current equipment includes:

• Digital X-ray
• Ultrasound
• Brand new laparoscopy equipment
• Dedicated dental suite

In addition, the team has access to advanced imaging, surgery and hospitalisation facilities through a nearby 24-hour hospital, ensuring excellent support for more complex cases.

The role is full time across four days per week with 1 in 3 Saturdays, providing a strong balance between professional responsibility and personal time.

The practice is keen to speak with Veterinary Surgeons who are passionate about clinical excellence and team development.

You will ideally:

• Be a qualified MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon
• Have strong general practice experience
• Enjoy mentoring and supporting colleagues
• Be confident delivering consultations and routine surgical procedures
• Be motivated to help create a positive, collaborative team environment
