Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Sport Specialist

We are working in partnership with a supportive and inclusive sixth form college to recruit a motivated Learning Support Assistant with a background in Sport. This is an excellent opportunity to support post-16 learners in a dynamic vocational setting and help them achieve their academic and personal goals.
The Role
As an LSA, you will support students across Sport courses, working alongside teaching staff to provide targeted assistance for learners who require additional support. Many students have Special Educational Needs (SEN), so a patient, encouraging, and adaptable approach is essential.
Key Responsibilities

Provide in-class support to students studying Sport
*
Assist learners with SEN to access lessons, coursework, and practical activities
*
Adapt resources and instructions to meet individual learning needs
*
Promote confidence, independence, and engagement in learning
*
Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to track student progress
*
Provide appropriate pastoral support where needed
Ideal Candidate Profile
*
Degree, BTEC, or equivalent qualification in Sport (or closely related field)
*
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, LSA, or similar role
*
Experience supporting SEN students in an educational setting
*
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*
Positive, proactive approach to supporting young people aged 16–19
*
Reliable, organised, and committed to student wellbeing
