Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Travel & Tourism Specialist

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking sixth form college to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant with a background in Travel & Tourism. This is a fantastic opportunity to support post-16 learners in a vocational environment, helping them succeed both academically and personally.
The Role
As an LSA, you will support students across Travel & Tourism courses, working closely with teaching staff to provide tailored assistance for learners who require additional support. Many students have Special Educational Needs (SEN), so patience, adaptability, and a genuinely supportive approach are essential.
Key Responsibilities

Provide in-class support to students studying Travel & Tourism
*
Assist learners with SEN to access course content and complete assignments
*
Adapt resources and explanations to meet individual learning needs
*
Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement
*
Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to monitor progress
*
Offer pastoral support where appropriate
Ideal Candidate Profile
*
Degree, BTEC, or equivalent qualification in Travel & Tourism (or closely related field)
*
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, LSA, or similar support role
*
Experience working with SEN students in an educational setting
*
Strong communication skills and a supportive, proactive attitude
*
Ability to build positive relationships with young people aged 16–19
*
Reliable, organised, and committed to student wellbeing
