Learning Tutor – Post-16 & SEND

Location: Haverhill- Suffolk

Contract: Term-time only

Salary: £27,810 – £36048 (+3% uplift from September) Full Time Equivalent, so actual salary will be between £24066- £32000


A well-established, Ofsted Grade 2 training provider is seeking a dedicated and proactive Supported Learning Tutor to deliver post-16 and SEND courses. This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant, state-of-the-art learning environment and make a real difference in the lives of young people.


About the Provider

This independent training provider specialises in helping learners who have disengaged from mainstream education find a tailored path to success. Programmes are designed to equip students with vocational skills, confidence, and the ability to progress into employment or further study. Learners are typically aged 16–24, including those with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), SEND, or other barriers to learning.

The Role

You will plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons for small groups (maximum class size of 14), ensuring that all learners achieve their goals. Subjects and pathways include:


  • Catering
  • Customer Service
  • Business Administration
  • Horticulture
  • Maths & English(Functional Skills)


Most courses start at Level 1, progressing to Level 2. You will play a key role in identifying learning gaps, supporting learners to develop study skills, and ensuring high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment.


What We’re Looking For

  • Teaching qualification (or willingness to achieve this – AET can be funded).
  • Experience working with SEND learners or those facing barriers to education.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
  • A positive, flexible, and learner-centred approach.
