The Opportunity

We are looking for an organised and proactive Legal Administrator / Legal Assistant to support our fee earners with the day-to-day running of matters. This role is primarily focused on legal administration, file management, compliance, and post-completion processes, and is ideal for someone who enjoys keeping matters progressing efficiently behind the scenes.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Opening and setting up new client files, including completing onboarding procedures and AML checks
  • Monitoring departmental trackers and ensuring matters progress in a timely manner
  • Chasing clients and third parties for outstanding information and documentation
  • Supporting fee earners with general file management and administrative tasks
  • Handling incoming and outgoing post, scanning, filing, and document management
  • Preparing and maintaining file records in line with firm procedures
  • Assisting with post-completion matters, including registering leases and documents at HM Land Registry
  • Dealing with Land Registry requisitions and related correspondence
  • Closing and archiving files in accordance with compliance requirements
  • Ensuring adherence to the firm’s risk management and administrative processes
  • Providing general administrative support to the team as required
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a legal administrative or similar office support role (property experience desirable but not essential)
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when handling documentation
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Confident communication skills and a professional telephone manner
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Proactive approach with strong follow-up skills
