Thousands of families across the country rely on us for a safe, affordable home. And as the housing crisis deepens, the work we do has never been more important.

It’s this belief – that everyone deserves a place to call home – that drives everything we do. Together, we find new ways to understand and champion our customers, support them and drive positive change.

About the role

As a Leasehold and Homeownership Officer, you’ll be the go-to expert for our homeowner customers – handling a wide range of complex queries around leases, transfers, property management, and service charges. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our customers feel supported, informed, and confident in their homes.

This isn’t a desk‑bound role. You’ll be visiting schemes, carrying out inspections, and maintaining a visible presence in our communities. Working closely with colleagues across Housing Services, you’ll help manage mixed-tenure sites and deliver a seamless customer experience. You’ll manage a diverse portfolio of shared owners, leaseholders, and freeholders, ensuring everything aligns with legal agreements and service expectations. It’s a busy, fast‑paced role requiring strong organisation, a proactive mindset, and curiosity to get to the heart of issues.

You’ll need to:

Translate legal jargon into clear, customer-friendly language
Think creatively to solve problems and improve service
Prioritise effectively and manage competing demands
Build strong relationships across teams and with customers

Salary: The spot salary for this post is £39,006 per annum for applicants who fully meet the requirements of the post. If you’re still developing some of the skills or experience, you can start at a salary 5% or 10% below the spot rate, with clear support and progression opportunities to reach the full amount.
Plus an 8% regional allowance of £3,126 and an essential car user allowance starting at £1,250 per annum.

About you

Experience in leasehold management within a housing association
Strong understanding of leases, transfers, and relevant regulations, with a commitment to continuous professional development
Ability to work independently as part of a small team
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of queries and maintain a professional, customer-focused approach
Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with multiple stakeholders at various levels
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
The successful applicant will be subject to pre‑employment checks, such as DBS and social media screening, before an offer is confirmed
