Permanent, Part Time (0.6)Please note that this post is funded for the 2026/27 academic year onwards so the successful candidate would not be expected to commence in post prior to August 2026.The School for Vocational and Technical Studies at South Thames College is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Criminology lecturer to deliver outstanding quality teaching, learning, assessment and tutorial support to students to maximise achievement and continuous improvement.Youll play a key role in supporting the development of the curriculum with employer engagement and learner skills development and select appropriate assessment methods and criteria, assess the work and progress of students by reference to the criteria and provide constructive feedback to students.Wed like you to be qualified to degree level in an appropriate subject, hold a teaching qualification (or willing to work towards) and have recent experience teaching Criminology in an FE College.

Youll demonstrate a proven ability to plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons, alongside experience in assessing, tracking and supporting student progress.A strong understanding of current FE curriculum frameworks and quality standards is essential, as is the ability to use digital technologies effectively to enhance teaching, learning and assessment.

Youll possess excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to motivate and support a diverse range of learners, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year.Closing date for the return of completed applications is 28th April 2026The benefits package includes generous annual leave of 40 days plus up to 8 additional days over Christmas/New Year as well as an additional 5 days Wellbeing leave to enhance employees physical and mental health.
