Legal Counsel - Data Privacy

Job Description

An international organisation is seeking an experienced Global Data Privacy Counsel to join its legal team on a 12 month maternity cover basis. Reporting to a senior international legal leader, this role will play a key part in supporting and strengthening a global data privacy governance programme.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing in-house legal advice on global data privacy matters across the UK, EU, North America and APAC
  • Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, including data protection clauses
  • Advising on data processing agreements, data transfers and privacy impact assessments
  • Managing data subject requests and data breach responses
  • Monitoring regulatory developments and advising senior stakeholders
  • Supporting global compliance initiatives and internal privacy training


About you:

  • Qualified lawyer with strong data privacy experience (ideally in-house)
  • Proven background in reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Confident working across multiple jurisdictions
  • Highly organised with strong analytical and stakeholder management skills


Hybrid working (minimum 3 days in office). Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
