We provide comprehensive support in contracts, negotiations, and processes with customers and suppliers as well as in general litigation and commercial law matters.Location: The role can be based anywhere in England. However, bi-weekly office attendance is required in Birmingham or Staines.Job PurposeWe are looking for a Legal Counsel to support our freight forwarding and logistics businesses across the UK and Ireland. You will play a key role in identifying and mitigating legal risk, supporting commercial objectives, and providing pragmatic legal advice across a wide range of contractual, compliance, and dispute-related matters. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will help protect the business while enabling growth in a fast-paced, international environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day legal support across freight forwarding and logistics operations in the UK and IrelandDraft, negotiate, and manage customer, supplier, customs, and freight forwarding contracts from opportunity through to implementationAdvise on legal risk, compliance, and governance matters in line with group policies and applicable lawsSupport commercial strategies by delivering clear, practical legal advice to business stakeholdersManage claims and disputes, including liaising with external counsel where requiredSupport compliance initiatives, including ESG-related matters and due diligence requestsCollaborate with internal teams including commercial, finance, credit, customs, risk, and complianceContribute to the development and continuous improvement of legal processes and proceduresYour ProfileQualified lawyer with 2–5 years’ post-qualification experienceStrong grounding in English contract law; experience across multiple jurisdictions is an advantageKnowledge of freight forwarding, transport, logistics, or customs law is highly desirableCommercially minded, with the ability to balance legal risk and business prioritiesComfortable working independently and managing a varied workload to tight deadlinesExcellent communication and stakeholder-management skillsPragmatic, solution-focused, and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environmentWe offer:Great opportunity to work for the biggest logistics company in the worldInternational and virtual environmentFlexibility and great opportunity to learnTempting Compensation and benefitsRemote / hybrid working modeDHL is an equal opportunity employer.
