Job Description

Legal Counsel - Global Tech Company - 1 to 5 years PQE - Glasgow (Hybrid Working)

Are you a junior solicitor ready to take your first step in-house or are you working in a legal counsel role and would be interested in a new challenge? This is an exciting opportunity to join a collegiate legal team supporting a UK-headquartered, multinational software and technology organisation operating in regulated markets. This role is based in their Glasgow.

This is a rare opportunity to join a growing, international tech company where the legal team is embedded at the heart of commercial decision-making. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, influence strategy, and gain exposure across a broad range of corporate and commercial matters all within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Why this role?

  • True in-house exposure – work directly with executive leadership and operational teams
  • Broad commercial remit – from technology and licensing to procurement, governance and compliance
  • Structured support and mentoring – ideal for someone transitioning from private practice
  • Hybrid and flexible working – genuine flexibility around working patterns
  • Growing international business

This role would particularly suit a junior solicitor with experience in corporate, commercial, banking or corporate governance work, who is keen to broaden into commercial contracts. The team has a structure that will enable training in commercial law and commercial contracts.

The Opportunity

The legal function plays a key advisory role across the business. You will:

  • Support the review and negotiation of a wide variety of commercial agreements, including services agreements, supply arrangements, technology and licensing documentation, and framework contracts
  • Advise internal stakeholders on regulatory and compliance matters including data protection, competition, governance and risk
  • Contribute to corporate transactions, due diligence and internal process improvements
  • Help develop templates, playbooks and internal guidance to streamline commercial operations
  • Partner closely with sales, procurement, finance and operational teams

You’ll gain exposure to public sector contracting, software solutions, and international commercial activity — making this an excellent platform for developing as a well-rounded in-house lawyer.

About You

You will be:

  • A qualified solicitor in the UK
  • Trained in corporate, commercial or company secretarial work (private practice, public sector or in-house)
  • Commercially minded and curious about how businesses operate
  • Comfortable engaging with non-legal colleagues and explaining risk in practical terms
  • Organised and adaptable in a fast-moving environment
  • Previous exposure to technology, software, procurement or regulated sectors would be advantageous — but is not essential.

The Culture & Benefits

This is a business that genuinely values flexibility and inclusion. They offer:

  • Hybrid working with flexibility on hours and working patterns
  • A strong commitment to diversity and merit-based progression
  • Structured learning and leadership development opportunities
  • Health & wellbeing support including employee assistance programmes
  • Family-friendly policies and enhanced leave provisions
  • Pension and share scheme participation

You will be part of a supportive legal team where your voice is heard and where you can grow your career with real commercial impact.

If you’re a junior solicitor ready to move closer to the business and build a long-term in-house career in a technology-led environment, this could be the perfect next step.
