Legal Counsel - Regulatory (Infrastructure Project)

A leading UK organisation in the infrastructure and energy space is seeking a Regulatory Counsel to support its next phase of growth and delivery on a nationally significant project. This role sits within a small, highly collaborative legal function supporting a complex, highly regulated project environment. You will advise across a broad range of regulatory, licensing and governance matters, working closely with senior stakeholders, regulators and external advisers. It’s a rare opportunity to operate at the intersection of law, regulation, government policy and major project delivery. Key Responsibilities
Advising on regulatory, licensing and permitting matters across a highly regulated project environment Supporting engagement with key UK regulators and government stakeholders Advising on economic licence obligations and broader regulatory compliance frameworks Leading legal input on regulatory claims, appeals and related proceedings Supporting governance, reporting and approvals processes linked to funding and shareholder arrangements Monitoring regulatory developments and advising the business on emerging risks and obligations
About You
You will be a qualified solicitor (England & Wales or equivalent) with 5+ years’ PQE, ideally with experience in energy, infrastructure, utilities or other regulated sectors. You will be comfortable advising senior stakeholders, navigating complex regulatory frameworks and working in a fast-moving project environment.
