Job Title: Legal Counsel

Location: Hybrid – Bolton (2 days per week)

Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum dependent on experience

Contract: Permanent

The Role

We are looking for a skilled Legal Counsel (2–5 years PQE) to provide practical legal support across commercial, corporate, technology, and operational matters. This hands-on role offers exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to contribute to the Group’s governance and legal framework.


Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, technology/SaaS contracts, service agreements, and NDAs.
  • Support IT and Procurement teams on software procurement and digital projects.
  • Assist with corporate governance, company secretarial duties, and corporate transactions.
  • Provide pragmatic legal advice to operational teams across Finance, Education, and Operations.
  • Support regulatory compliance and contribute to legal risk management, templates, and playbooks.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders and the Group Legal team on cross-functional and cross-border matters.


Experience & Skills

Essential:

  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
  • 2–5 years PQE in commercial, corporate, or technology law (private practice or in-house).
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication, organisational skills, and commercial awareness.


Desirable:

  • In-house experience in a regulated environment.
  • Exposure to education, care, or multi-site organisations.
  • Experience in IP, IT/software procurement, digital transformation, or corporate governance.
