A client of TSA is seeking to appoint a Senior Legal Disrepair and Defect Liability Building Surveyor (MRICS or FRICS qualified) to grow and lead this area of the business. The role involves managing and delivering legal disrepair and defect liability surveys, acting as an expert witness, and driving new business development.
The company already provides these services to three large housing associations and one major private client and is looking for someone to take ownership of expanding the department, with full autonomy and support from senior leadership, customer service, and marketing teams. Over time, the successful candidate would be expected to build and manage a team of surveyors.
Key responsibilities include analysing property disrepair cases, preparing detailed expert reports, presenting evidence in court, liaising with legal professionals and clients, advising on technical matters (including damp, mould, and condensation), and maintaining accurate case documentation.
Requirements include:
MRICS or FRICS qualification RICS Expert Witness qualification Minimum 3 years Expert Witness experience Experience in damp, mould, and condensation Strong analytical, organisational, and report-writing skills Ability to manage multiple cases independently Previous team management experience preferred
