Hays Education are delighted to offer a Level 2 Teaching Assistant role based in Eastbourne.

The Role

As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide targeted support to pupils with a range of SEN needs, both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, differentiated learning activities.
• Help create a calm, structured, and supportive classroom environment.
• Use a variety of communication strategies and resources to ensure learning is accessible for all pupils.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, social interaction, and confidence-building.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and specialist staff to implement personalised learning plans.
• Contribute to monitoring pupil progress and sharing observations with the teaching team.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, and carers.

Candidate Requirements

We are looking for someone who is:

• Experienced working with children with SEN, ideally in a school or specialist setting.
• Confident using positive behaviour management strategies.
• Patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Able to adapt support to suit a wide range of learning styles and developmental stages.
• A strong communicator who works well as part of a collaborative team.
• Qualified to Level 2 in Supporting Teaching & Learning (or equivalent).
