Location: Dynamic Hybrid (23 days on-site) | Stevenage, Bristol, or Bolton
Salary: Up to £75,000 (depending on experience)
Security Clearance: DV Clearance Required (SC at offer stage to start position)
The Opportunity We are seeking a forward-thinking HPC Architect with deep expertise in storage and infrastructure to define the long-term roadmap of our High-Performance Computing environments. In this role, you will be a key driver in building scalable, high-throughput infrastructure that supports a dynamic engineering community.
As a core member of a multi-national Information Management function, you will bridge the gap between business objectives and technical execution. You will manage and maintain complex HPC environmentsincluding compute nodes, storage, and interconnectswhile collaborating with multi-cultural teams to drive cross-functional capability.

Key Responsibilities Architecture & Strategy Roadmap Definition: Define and maintain the long-term HPC architecture roadmap aligned with organizational goals.

Technology Selection: Evaluate and select emerging technologies across compute, storage, networking, and cloud HPC.

Governance: Establish technical standards, reference architectures, and best practices for the HPC ecosystem.

System Design & Engineering Oversight Cluster Architecture: Design large-scale HPC clusters incorporating CPU, GPU, and specialized accelerator-based systems.

High-Performance Networking: Architect low-latency networking solutions, including InfiniBand, RDMA, and high-speed Ethernet.

Storage Architecture: Define and implement parallel file systems, object storage, and tiered storage strategies.

Technical Leadership: Provide high-level oversight and guidance to HPC engineering and operations teams.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal engineers and external HPC vendors to ensure services evolve alongside business needs.
