Job Description
Miller Maxwell is working with an established financial services organisation, is seeking a Linux Engineer to join their dynamic technology team. Fantastic opportunity for a Linux Engineer looking for a move to the financial services sector, or their 2nd commercial role within the industry. Responsibilities for the Linux Infrastructure Engineer:
Manage, maintain, and optimise Linux-based systems across production and development environments. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability. Collaborate with application teams to support deployments and integrations. Automate routine tasks and contribute to infrastructure-as-code initiatives. Implement and maintain security best practices, including patching and compliance monitoring. Participate in on-call support rotations and incident response activities. Contribute to documentation, standards, and process improvements.
Linux Infrastructure Engineer:
A STEM based degree 1-3 years of experience in Linux system administration (Red Hat, CentOS, or similar distributions). Experience with shell scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible). Familiarity with monitoring tools and performance tuning. Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls). Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is advantageous. Knowledge of security practices within a regulated environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.
