Robert Half are with a Global Financial Services Organisation to recruit for a Linux / Oracle Systems Administrator (Banking) based in London on an initial 24 Month Fixed Term Contract for a Global Financial services Organisation. Responsibilities: Administer and optimise Oracle databases for core banking applications, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. Manage and maintain Linux and AIX servers hosting financial systems. Perform OS and database upgrades, patching, and performance tuning. Collaborate with senior IT staff and external specialists for planning and requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve issues impacting banking services. Implement and monitor backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and Data Guard. Automate routine tasks via shell scripting and configuration management tools. Ensure compliance with IT security policies and regulatory standards. Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing. Provide on-call support and incident response for production environments. Document procedures, configurations, and operational runbooks.
