An opportunity to work in one of the largest Women’s Health Services in Scotland. NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a skilled and dynamic consultant to join the Obstetrics and Gynaecology team. The post is based at University Hospital Wishaw, central Scotland with access to Glasgow and Edinburgh, the Highlands of Scotland and the Borders.The vacancy is based at University Hospital Wishaw and provides all inpatient obstetric and gynaecological care for the population of Lanarkshire. The post is for a gynaecologist with a special interest in benign gynaecological surgery and office gynaecology. The precise job plan will be tailored to the skills of the successful applicant.ResponsibilitiesProvide clinical duties as a Consultant Gynaecologist with a special interest in benign gynaecological surgery and outpatient gynaecology.Contribute to quality improvement, patient safety, medical education, research and development, and appraisal as applicable.Discuss proposals for additional SPA time with the Recruitment Lead and/or Service Manager where appropriate, in line with professional and service requirements.Working arrangementsProposals for additional SPA time from applicants are encouraged. In addition to the 1 PA for Non-DCC/SPA activities, the Board supports applications for additional SPA time for those with well-developed ideas for improving services who can demonstrate a commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, medical education, research, and related activities.Educational and honorary statusThe University of Glasgow has close links with NHS Lanarkshire.
