Our client, a respected 240-cow herd in Lancashire, is seeking an experienced person to work alongside the family and part-time staff in the daily running of the farm.
A truly mixed role, this position offers great variety in the tasks asked of you. From feeder wagon work, telehandler operation and basic tractor work in the fields, to a certain amount of milking, cow care and youngstock tasks, if you like to be a part of a family business and every element of the dairy unit, this role is for you! The herd is cubicle housed in modern sheds, fed a TMR diet milked through an 18-month-old Pearson 18/36 Swingover parlour and grazes during the day in spring and summer.
The successful candidate will be as happy in the parlour as they are in the tractor cab, or in the workshop, with a professional can do attitude putting the care of the cows as their main focus. They will be able to spot and treat mastitis alongside other common issues and be proactive in dealing with them. Likewise, care and maintenance around the farm and of the machinery will be high on your agenda.
