A well‑established and expanding manufacturing business in Birmingham is seeking a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer to strengthen its maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a company that continues to invest in new technology, modern production equipment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining a wide range of machinery across multiple sites, ensuring high levels of reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting ongoing engineering improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities in accordance with engineering standards and manufacturer guidance.
Diagnose faults, implement permanent corrective actions, and support root‑cause analysis to prevent reoccurrence.
Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and refurbishments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Work alongside the Maintenance Manager on risk assessments, equipment condition monitoring, and long‑term replacement planning.
Ensure all maintenance work is delivered safely and complies with UK H&S legislation and internal company procedures.
Use CMMS systems to record maintenance activities, plan tasks, and support asset‑management processes.
Review contractors' RAMS, issue permits to work, and ensure all third‑party engineering activities meet site requirements.
Skills & Experience Required
Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
Good understanding of TPM methodologies and familiarity with CMMS or digital maintenance tracking systems.
Strong fault‑finding skills with exposure to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Confidence in reading and interpreting technical drawings, manuals, and engineering schematics.
