Job Description
Maintenance Engineer - Coventry\n\nSalary: £47,000 including shift allowance\n Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week\n Shifts: 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am (rotating)\n Holidays: 25 days + Bank Holidays\n\nWe're looking for a reliable Maintenance Engineer to join us, supporting a range of cutting and production machinery. This role involves both planned and reactive maintenance work, and specialised training will be provided. Candidates with an electrical-mechanical background and good computer skills will be well suited to this position.\n\nThe Role\n\nYou will maintain and support machinery, ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently, and consistently.
Your work will help minimise downtime, improve machine performance, and keep production running smoothly.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nCarry out reactive repairs on machinery and auxiliary equipment in accordance with safety and industry standards.\n\nComplete PPM tasks following procedures and best-practice guidelines.\n\nEnsure all repair work meets required standards; escalate outstanding issues when needed.\n\nLog abnormal conditions so maintenance schedules can be updated and improved.\n\nIdentify practical improvements to reduce breakdowns and enhance equipment reliability.\n\nAdjust machine settings to address quality concerns and support consistent output.\n\nMaintain process integrity by working within set operating parameters.\n\nKeep digital records, maintenance systems, and handover notes accurate and up to date.\n\nDeliver thorough handovers between shifts, including logging spare parts used.\n\nConduct production handovers after maintenance work.\n\nMaintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment, disposing of waste correctly.\n\nWork within engineering project teams to support upgrades, capital equipment changes and continuous improvement activities.\n\nFollow all health & safety procedures related to machinery, guarding, and control systems.\n\nPerform additional tasks as required to support the engineering team.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n\nSkills & Experience\n\nTime-served engineer, ideally with an electrical bias or multiskilled.\n\nAbility to read and understand technical information and machine documentation.\n\nStrong problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to improving plant performance.\n\nRandstad CPE values and promotes equality.
