Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias)
Location: Commutable from Milton Keynes, Aylesbury, Luton, Leighton Buzzard, Dunstable, Buckingham, Hemel Hempstead and Bedford
Salary: OTE: £54,000+ including shift premium plus overtime
Shift Pattern:
Monday to Friday 8 hour shifts three shift system NO WEEKENDS - Closed for Christmas week
The Role
We are seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a Mechanical Bias, who also has strong electrical fault-finding skills, to join a busy manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving both new and existing plant equipment to ensure the site runs safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.
Key responsibilities include:
·Mechanical maintenance, repair and overhaul of heavy process and plant machinery
·Mechanical fitting, strip-down and installation of equipment
·Machining and welding to support maintenance and fabrication tasks
·Reading and interpreting mechanical and CAD drawings
·Electrical fault finding on production and process equipment (basic to intermediate)
·Supporting the shift from a breakdown-led environment to a preventative maintenance structure
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will:
·Be a multi-skilled engineer with strong mechanical skills and competent electrical fault-finding ability
·Have experience working in heavy industry, such as aggregates, mining, quarrying, manufacturing, recycling, or similar (other industries also considered)
·Be confident working in a fast-paced breakdown environment
·Have experience in machining, welding, fabrication, and mechanical fitting
·Be able to read and interpret mechanical and CAD drawings
