Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 pa negotiable dependent on experience, specifically in relation to candidates with experience in the meat / poultry processing sector.

Gafoor is a fast-growing, family-owned food manufacturing business supplying major UK grocery, retail and wholesale customers from our modern, BRC-accredited facility in Preston. With 500 employees and a 24/5 operation spanning live intake through to finished product distribution, we are at a pivotal stage in our growth.

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager with a background in FMCG or food manufacturing, ideally poultry or meat processing.

About The Role:

Working within a dynamic FMCG environment, you'll take ownership for the delivery of minor works projects including the associated contractor and supplier management, project tracking and cost control - whilst ensuring all compliance and safety standards are adhered to.

This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role that requires strong organisation, communication, and commercial awareness. Working hours could be flexible on discussion to ensure weekend installations work can be carried out where required.

This role is vital in ensuring the smooth and effective delivery of minor works across the manufacturing, utilities and infrastructure environment.

This role would suit a junior Project engineer looking for their next role or an experienced manufacturing engineer looking to step in to their first project role.

What You'll Be Responsible For:

Maintenance planning: Work OEM data and reading technical specifications to use and drive improved maintenance practices across the business
Stakeholder management: Work with Engineering, production, quality and external providers to build a cooperative approach to ensure an improving maintenance regime.
System Administration: Maintain and update the site CMMS for accurate tracking and reporting. Keeping audit documentation up to date and training records for the maintenance team.
Process Improvement: Drive efficiency, reduce costs, and implement best practice within the maintenance remit.
Implementation: measure and report on the effectiveness of the maintenance regime.Who Will Thrive Here/What we are looking for:

Mechanical / electrical engineering qualification - Essential
Experience of being a maintenance manager / supervisor - Essential
Proven experience of running a CMMS system - Essential
Experience of working within the food manufacturing sector - Desirable
UK Driving License - Desirable
Strong IT & Numerical skills - Essential
Ability to work independently and use initiative - Essential
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail - Essential
