Lead a High-Profile IFM Environment
This is not a standard Maintenance role.Working within a diverse university estate, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing facilities that support thousands of students and staff.
From academic buildings to residential environments, this role offers variety, technical challenge and the opportunity to lead engineering excellence within a complex campus setting.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Facilities Management & Workplace Experience, you will lead IFM delivery across the campus, ensuring operational excellence, strong performance, and effective client and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Hard Services team to ensure safe operation and repair of all M&E services within the contract scope.
Maintain high statutory compliance standards, ensuring logbooks and CAFM records are accurate and up to date.
Act as deputy responsible person for hard services, managing day-to-day risks (water, electrical, F‑Gas, etc.).
Work with the Facilities and Workplace Experience team to ensure reactive tasks and PPMs are completed safely and on time, avoiding KPI penalties.
Manage the controlled issue of hard services materials, consumables, and equipment.
Build strong relationships with key suppliers and Sodexo support teams to enhance service delivery.
Carry out routine and ad‑hoc audits on planned and reactive work to ensure quality and compliance.

What We’re Looking For
Strong technical knowledge of building services, with the ability to lead the site team from a technical perspective.
Holds a recognised trade qualification (electrical, mechanical, or plumbing).
Experienced in managing a diverse team, including handling HR-related matters.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Background in a TFM/IFM environment.
Confident using the Microsoft Office suite.
Skilled in compiling performance reports and presenting to management.
Experience with time management and payroll systems, including resource planning.
Extensive hard services experience with strong understanding of relevant regulations.
Good knowledge of risk assessments and safe systems of work.
Experience preparing for internal and external FM audits.
Confident in building effective client and stakeholder relationships.
