Maintenance Manager - Garden Maintenance Operations\n\nSalary DOE | Full‑Time | Permanent\n Putney, South West London\n\nAn excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join a well‑established garden design, build, and maintenance company delivering high‑end horticultural services across London. This is a key operational role managing a diverse portfolio of maintenance clients and overseeing multiple gardening teams.\n\nWith over 20 years of experience and a strong reputation for quality and attention to detail, the business maintains gardens ranging from large, leafy residential spaces to city courtyards and roof gardens. This role is ideal for an organised, people‑focused manager with a genuine interest in horticulture and garden maintenance operations.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nMaintenance Scheduling & Client Management\nManage and maintain the overall maintenance schedule across the client base\nMaximise billable hours while consistently delivering high service standards\nCommunicate with clients to confirm visits, gather feedback, and regularly review service levelsTeam Management\n\nManage and support six maintenance teams working across London\nMaintain daily communication with team leaders and gardeners to ensure work is completed to a high standard\nEnsure teams are fully prepared with the correct information, materials, and schedules for each jobSupplier & Vendor Management\n\nOrder plants, materials, and sundries in line with maintenance requirements\nCoordinate deliveries to align with team schedules and site needsSeasonal Services\n\nUpsell, plan, and manage seasonal services such as mulching, lawn care, and bulb planting\nOrganise materials, scheduling, and delivery from start to finishData, Equipment & Vehicle Management\n\nMonitor gardener working hours and review schedules to maintain efficiency\nMaintain accurate records of tools and equipment across maintenance teams\nEnsure tools are issued, tracked, and returned correctly\nOversee basic upkeep, cleanliness, servicing, and roadworthiness of company vehiclesWhat We're Looking For\n\nPrevious experience managing teams within a gardening, landscaping, or horticultural environment\nA genuine interest in horticulture and garden maintenance\nStrong organisational and time‑management skills\nExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written\nConfident working with clients and internal teams\nGood IT skills, including Excel, Word, and email\nA proactive, structured, and solutions‑focused approachWhat's on Offer\n\nSalary dependent on experience\nA full‑time, permanent role with responsibility and autonomy\nOpportunity to manage a large, varied maintenance operation across London\nA stable position within a respected and long‑standing horticultural business\nSupportive management and professional working environmentIf you're an organised manager with a passion for horticulture and experience leading teams, I'd be happy to discuss this opportunity further.\n\nFor more information, please contact Stanley at MorePeople on (phone number removed) or email (url removed)
