Maintenance Officer

Maintenance Officer will be responsible for carrying out plumbing, mechanical and or electrical repairs, planned preventative maintenance, renewals and replacements within commercial-type buildings, including schools, children's centres and other premises of varying sizes. The works will range from routine reactive repairs, planned maintenance, statutory testing and may include some design and installation works.
Maintenance Officer Works are required to be undertaken in accordance with Industry standards (i.e. SGF20, CIBSIE), building and statutory regulations, British standards and manufacturers operating and maintenance manuals. The post-holder will be required to use their skills and judgement to diagnose compliance and asset failures and determine the best solution to resolve repair problems.
Maintenance Officer A key objective of the role is to ensure the properties are well maintained with no disruption to the customers service because of either plant failure or general repairs and maintenance. This role plays a vital part in ensuring that the staff within the properties can focus on educational matters and their service users' needs as opposed to building-related issues.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
All About You Maintenance Officer

Maintenance Officer You'll be confident diagnosing building faults, finding cost-effective solutions, and coordinating follow-on works when needed. Strong communication and customer care skills are essential, as you'll be representing the Camden FM service and Council, keeping customers and colleagues informed and ensuring work is carried out efficiently and safely.
You'll also enjoy using technology to optimise building performance, manage your workload, and record works accurately. You'll have a solid understanding of statutory compliance, health and safety, and safe systems of work, and you'll be able to read drawings, O&M manuals, and identify defects. Working collaboratively, you'll contribute to long-term maintenance strategies and energy-efficient solutions, helping keep our buildings safe, efficient, and welcoming
