Maintenance Operative / Handy Person Vacancy Contract : Initially Temporary then permanent after 2-4 weeks Hours:  37.5 hours  Location : Canning Town, London My client, a charity located in Canning Town that provides sheltered accommodation for the homeless, is seeking an all-round Handy person / Maintenance operative to repair and maintain the residents' rooms and common areas of the buildings.The postholder would be required to support daily, weekly & monthly planned maintenance tasks as scheduled (fire alarm tests, water temperature recording, emergency lighting tests, etc.).Duties will also include some basic plumbing, electrical (fitting plugs and sockets, hanging lights etc, to putting up shelves and resealing bathroom sinks, windows etc as well has General janitorial duties as requested and Ad-hoc porterage duties (moves and changes, furniture management etc. To apply for this position, you would need to have the following skills / experience Minor building fabric spot cleaning, repairs, decorating tasks and plumbing repairs.
