Maintenance Shift Team LeaderLoughborough, Leicestershire£51,0003 ShiftThe OpportunityCV Technical is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business in Leicestershire for an experienced Maintenance Shift Team Leader to head up their reactive maintenance function on a rotating 3-shift pattern. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with real impact - sitting at the front line of plant reliability and production support.The successful candidate will lead a multi-skilled maintenance team through breakdown response, ensuring plant issues are resolved safely, quickly and to a high standard. The business values strong decision-making, clear communication and the ability to perform under pressure. A heavy industry background is an advantage but not a barrier - an experienced maintenance leader with the right skills and attitude is equally encouraged to apply.The RoleLead, supervise and organise the reactive maintenance team, allocating tasks based on urgency, risk and individual skill setsCoordinate rapid breakdown response across the plant, managing resources to minimise production downtimeProvide hands-on technical support and guidance to electricians, fitters and multi-skilled techniciansEnsure all reactive work is completed safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standardMaintain accurate breakdown records within the CMMS, capturing faults, parts used and repair timesAct as the key point of contact between maintenance and production, communicating equipment status and recovery plans clearlyIdentify recurring faults and support management with root cause analysis and long-term reliability recommendationsEnforce compliance with LOTOTO, PPE and all site safety procedures throughout breakdown and recovery activitiesDeliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and reactive maintenance reviews with the teamMonitor team performance against KPIs including response time, job completion rates and safety complianceSupport team development through coaching, mentoring and identifying upskilling opportunitiesWhat We're Looking ForProven background as a maintenance engineer (mechanical or electrical) in an industrial or manufacturing environment - essentialDemonstrated leadership or supervisory experience, with the ability to motivate a team under pressureStrong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills across plant and production equipmentAbility to prioritise multiple breakdowns simultaneously and allocate resources effectivelySolid understanding of plant systems such as conveyors, mixers, pumps and material-handling equipmentStrong communication, planning and organisational skillsGood working knowledge of H&S principles including LOTO, PPE and safe isolation proceduresMulti-skilled capability (mechanical and electrical awareness) - advantageousExperience leading multi-disciplinary maintenance teams - preferableCMMS experience with strong documentation and reporting skills - desirableFamiliarity with reliability-centred maintenance or continuous improvement activities - beneficialPLC, SCADA or automation knowledge - desirable but not essentialHeavy industry, aggregates or process manufacturing background - preferred but not requiredHow to ApplyThis vacancy is being managed on a strictly confidential basis by CV Technical Ltd.
