This is a hands-on, varied role ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, problem-solving and taking ownership of day-to-day maintenance tasks.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral MaintenanceGeneral repairs including basic carpentry, plumbing and decoratingRoutine equipment and H&S checks, maintaining the Maintenance HandbookMinor repairs to fixtures and fittingsCarpet shampooing as directedProactive improvement suggestions to enhance buildings and groundsDriving the minibus when requiredInternal/external window cleaning within H&S guidelinesMonitoring the Medicare systemMonthly Health & Safety auditsOutdoor & Grounds CareGrounds maintenance: mowing, aeration, weeding, pruning, flower bedsSeasonal clearing of leaves, snow, ice and mossRoutine maintenance of grass-cutting machineryKeeping external areas clean and tidy to a high standardRegular litter bin emptyingDrain and gully clearingDeliveries & LogisticsReceiving deliveries of post, materials and suppliesDistributing goods across sites with accurate record-keepingPainting, Decorating & Room PreparationSafe movement of furniture/equipment in line with manual handling regulationsPreparing and decorating rooms, lounges and corridorsCleaning spillages promptly and safelyPerson SpecificationEssentialExperience in basic building repairs and grounds maintenanceStrong ability to prioritise tasksWorking knowledge of Health & Safety legislationWillingness to undertake training and apply relevant regulationsAbility to operate mechanical/electrical systemsClear, effective communication skillsPhysically capable of regular lifting and carryingAble to work independently across multiple sitesFull UK driving licenceDesirableCity & Guilds qualificationTime-served apprenticeshipH&S Level 2 or 3 certificateNVQ in constructionCurrent First Aid certificateBlue Arrow is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and is committed to helping find great work opportunities for great people.TPBN1_UKTJ
