Maintenance Technician
Woolwich, South East London
£36,000 - £40,000 (DOE)
Monday to Friday | 08:00 - 16:00
Premier Recruitment Group are currently working in partnership with a well-established food production company based in Woolwich to recruit a Maintenance Technician. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected manufacturing business with a long-standing reputation within the food sectors.
The role will involve working across the production facility, supporting the ongoing maintenance and reliability of a variety of equipment used in the processing of natural ingredients. You will work closely with the Maintenance Engineer and production management team to ensure machinery and systems remain safe, compliant, and operational.
Key Responsibilities
Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the site
Installation, repair, and modification of stainless steel, carbon steel, and copper pipework
Supporting fault finding and maintenance on basic electrical systems, including isolators and switches
Working with low-pressure pneumatic systems, including valves and actuators
Assisting with the maintenance of plant equipment including pumps, motors, and associated pipework
Planning maintenance work and sourcing required materials and equipment
Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with food industry standards, including BRC and HACCP protocols
Maintaining strict adherence to PPE, sanitation, and post-maintenance sign-off proceduresRequirements
A broad maintenance background within manufacturing, food production, or a similar industrial environment
Strong hands-on experience with industrial pipework systems
Practical understanding of basic electrical fault finding
Experience with pneumatic systems would be beneficial
Strong IT skills and the ability to document maintenance activities
Understanding of food manufacturing standards and hygiene protocolsThis position would suit a practical and versatile maintenance professional who enjoys working within a fast-paced production environment and is looking to develop their skills further within a specialist manufacturing setting.
