Maintenance technician

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

To assist with the general maintenance and upkeep of buildings and grounds

Requirements

City & Guilds in either Electrical and/or Mechanical Services level 3 or NVQ Level 3

Previous experience in a multi skilled maintenance position with a core skill in either electrical or mechanical services

Previous experience in a shift technician role within a complex environment

MAIN DUTIESCarry out general repairs and maintenance to the Care Home, both interior and exterior

To maintain the grounds and gardens to a high standard that reflects the general ambience of the Home
To maintain the exterior appearance of the building by way of a general cleaning programme
To be responsible for daily inspections of the grounds and buildings and to report any issues of concern to the owner
During the course of carrying out your duties, to be aware of opportunities for energy savings
Replenish cracked and fading paintwork
Ensure that the generator is maintained and in good working order
To be aware of the potential impact on our residents of any activity within the Home when working in close proximity to them
Carry out weekly water testing
Carry out weekly electrical testing in accordance with P.A.T.
To maintain gardening equipment as fit for purpose
Maintain all documentation up to date and report any anomalies
