Help Maintain a Critical Piece of Colorado’s Water Infrastructure

Todd Creek Village Metropolitan District is seeking a dependable, hands-on Maintenance & Water Treatment Plant Operator-in-Training to utilize your troubleshooting and maintenance skills while developing Water Treatment knowledge in a real-world environment working for a small water district, servicing areas of Thornton & Brighton, CO .

Under the direction of the Water Treatment Plant Manager and Lead Operator and in compliance with all state and federal regulations, you will perform duties vital to the success and safety of the Todd Creek Village Metropolitan District drinking water plant. This position would be best filled by a hard-working individual with maintenance and troubleshooting experience, in any capacity, who is eager to become a Colorado Water Professional and can be trained while on-the-job.

This position is Full Time as defined by working 40 regularly scheduled hours per week with on-call rotations, overtime, and flexibility as needed by District Operations

Education & Certifications Requirements:

Ability to acquire Class D (entry level) Water Treatment certification through the State of Colorado within 3 months of hiring High School Diploma or GED required Driver’s license and clean driving record

What You’ll Do: Duties include but are not limited to:

Completing daily rounds and labs as outlined by the Plant Manager/Lead Operator Handling hazardous chemicals in a safe and efficient manner Monitoring SCADA and promptly report problems to supervisor Collecting and checking compliance samples and ensuring delivery to Colorado Analytical Laboratory Assisting other District departments as a team-player and coordinating with supervisor to ensure primary duties are covered Performing On-call duties related to the drinking water plant, distribution system, and raw water systems during assigned 1 week “on-call” periods Reviewing and interpreting data gathered in rounds, labs, and compliance samples

Skills & Competencies:

Intermediate knowledge of hand tools, power tools, mathematics, plumbing, pumps, valves, motors, filters, and equipment maintenance Ability to learn and pass certification tests Capable of moving 40-pound bags and 55-gallon barrels of chemical Ability to follow and understand safety procedures Ability to follow and understand Standard Operating Procedures Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office and SCADA systems Demonstrate attention to detail and consistency through previous experience Express desire and commitment to learn water quality testing and sample collection
