Maintenance Welder/Fabricator Loughborough, Leicestershire Days £44,000 The OpportunityCV Technical is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing operation in Leicestershire for a skilled Maintenance Welder / Fabricator to join their days-based maintenance team. This is a hands-on, varied role offering a competitive salary and a permanent position within a busy and well-supported engineering function.The business operates in a demanding production environment and is looking for someone who takes pride in the quality of their work, has a strong safety mindset, and can turn their hand to both welding and mechanical maintenance tasks. A background in heavy industry is beneficial but not essential - a competent, driven welder/fabricator with solid mechanical skills is equally welcome to apply.The Role Carry out MIG and stick welding to produce high-quality, durable welds suited to demanding plant conditionsFabricate, repair and modify plant structures including chutes, hoppers, guards, platforms and high-wear componentsPerform mechanical repairs on conveyors, mixers, material-handling systems and other production machineryComplete hard-facing and wear-protection welding to extend component life in high-abrasion environmentsSupport planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and corrective maintenance activities across the siteRespond to urgent breakdowns, restoring production safely and efficiently to a high standardInspect and assess welds, structures and fabricated components to ensure compliance and durabilityMaintain accurate maintenance and repair records in line with site requirementsCollaborate with production and maintenance teams to prioritise workload and drive plant reliability improvementsCarry out both workshop-based and on-site welding and mechanical work as requiredAdhere to all hot-work, LOTO, confined space and PPE procedures at all timesWhat we're looking forStrong MIG and stick welding skills - essentialSteel fabrication capability including layout, cutting and fit-upMechanical maintenance experience including repairs, replacements and adjustmentsAbility to read fabrication drawings and interpret weld symbolsStrong awareness of safety procedures including hot-work permits, LOTO and PPEAble to work independently and as part of a wider maintenance teamGood timekeeping, reliability and a proactive, can-do attitudeWelding certifications (CWB, AWS or equivalent) - advantageousExperience in heavy industry, aggregates, quarrying or similar environments - preferred but not essentialFamiliarity with PPM routines or reliability-focused maintenance - desirableExposure to continuous improvement or lean manufacturing principles - beneficialHow to ApplyThis vacancy is being managed on a strictly confidential basis by CV Technical Ltd.
