About the Opportunity Elite Consultancy is proud to be partnering with a leading organisation within the construction and heavy machinery sector to recruit a Major Account Manager.
This is a high-impact, strategic role focused on managing a small portfolio of key accounts with significant fleet value. The position offers the opportunity to work with major industry clients, delivering tailored solutions across equipment, services, and aftermarket support.
The business operates in a fast-paced, commercially driven environment and is recognised for its technical expertise, strong customer relationships, and ability to deliver long-term value across large-scale operations.
The Role As a Major Account Manager, you will take ownership of 3–4 high-value strategic accounts, focusing on long-term relationship development, account growth, and commercial performance.
This is not a volume sales role — it requires a consultative, strategic approach, working closely with clients to understand operational needs, optimise fleet performance, and identify new opportunities.
You will act as the key interface between clients and internal teams, ensuring seamless delivery and strong communication across all levels.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and develop a portfolio of major strategic accounts with large fleet operations
Build strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers
Develop and implement strategic account plans aligned with client objectives
Identify and drive growth opportunities across equipment, services, and aftermarket solutions
Act as the primary point of contact between clients and senior leadership teams
Collaborate with internal departments including sales, operations, and technical specialists
Provide insights on industry trends and support clients with fleet optimisation strategies
Deliver regular reporting and account updates to internal stakeholders
Represent the business at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunitiesAbout You Experience
5–10 years’ experience within construction, heavy plant, or machinery sectors
Proven track record in Key Account or Major Account Management
Experience managing high-value clients and long-term agreements
Exposure to fleet management or equipment-based environments
Background in dealer, distribution, or partner-led models (desirable)
Strong understanding of machinery applications and operational environmentsSkills & Competencies
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage complex accounts
Skilled in balancing sales growth with customer relationship management
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Strong stakeholder management and networking ability
Self-motivated and comfortable in a field-based role
Highly organised with strong strategic planning capabilities
